Soon after her move to New York from Romania in the year of 2000, Lia discovered what she still thinks of as a magical place .......the New York Botanical Garden....and a new passion was born: working with the shapes, textures and colors of nature.

Armed with skills from a diverse background (she holds a MS in Mechanical Design and Industrial Engineering from a Romanian University and she is a musician)  Lia  enrolled in the Landscape Design Certificate Program at NYBG and signed up for additional classes in horticulture.  She completed the program in the summer of 2005.

During the time between completing her studies and starting her own company, Lia honed her design skills and deepened her horticulture knowledge working for a couple of design/build companies in Westchester county and New York City.
